John ( Steel ) Craddock (1908)

John  ( Steel ) Craddock Born 25 February 1908 and died 25 November 1981

In his youth John Craddock commonly known as STEEL ( not because he was a thief but rather because he was hardy in his youth ) was a keen cycle racer and is recorded as having won many prizes for cycling. In his spare time he helped out in the local primary school by teaching maths to the students. In return for this activity the Head Master and the local Parish Priest would help him with saving of the hay on his farm.
In January 1950 he married Nancy Hooks ( 1918-1970 ) They had 9 children.
