In 1920 Mary married Simon Clavin ( 1894 ) a native of Moate Co Westmeath.
Simon was a member of The R.I.C. ( Police force ) Stationed in Ballinrobe Co Mayo. While out on patrol in Partry Co Mayo his convoy was attacked resulting in 3 of his fellow officers been killed.
In 1922 he was awarded The Constabulary Medal which is presently stored in the Police Museum in Belfast. After THE TRUCE He resigned from the R.I.C. and moved his family to Deri in South Wales where he joined the local coal board police force. In later years each summer Simon would return to his native home in Moate to visit his family. He is buried in Deri.
Mary and Simon Clavin had three children.
Mary Christina ( 24 12 1920 ). On the 28th of October 1940 Mary Christina married Edgar Mantle from Deri in South Wales, They had 3 children:- Mary Mantle, Anthony Mantle and Patricia Mantle Most of Mary/ Simon’s descendants live in and around Deri, in South Wales
Norah Patricia On 27th December 1952 Norah married Ernest Lawrence, They lived in Monmouth, Mid Wales, They had 3 children:- Neil, David, and Elizabeth.
Annie Teresa ( Clavin ) On 23 February 1952 Annie married Joe Stuckey, They lived in Deri South Wales. They had no children.
